Safety First: Remove the battery or unplug from power before changing the blade. Always wear protective gloves before any maintenance.
Fitting the Blade Before Use
RYOBI reciprocating saws require no major assembly before use. However, the blade is not fitted when you unpack the tool, so you must install it correctly before operation.
1) Select the appropriate blade for the material and type of cut you intend to make.
2) All RYOBI reciprocating saws accept a universal shank blade, suitable for most reciprocating saws.
Each RYOBI reciprocating saw is equipped with a quick-change lever for easy blade replacement.
To change the blade:
- Lift the quick-change lever.
- Insert the blade fully into the clamp slot, from the front of the tool.
- The blade can be inserted in both directions.
- Release the lever so it returns to its resting position, locking the blade securely in place.
Always check the blade is firmly secured, by test pulling it before reconnecting power or starting any cutting operation.
